Okay guys so this is my last ever blog post for the year. As I was typing this I went through all my post starting from August till now and wow the journey we have been through.

From topics like cheer, movies, shows, political stance it has been a great ride. I don’t know what is going to happen after this but whatever it is I’ll imagine me blogging about or vlogging it on my youtube channel.

The 10 years of waiting is officially over.  Marvel’s Infinity War was released April, 27 and it has already made over 1 billion dollars in under 11 days that hasn’t been done since Star Wars: The force awakens which made over I billion dollars in under 12 days. Infinity had what I’ve been looking forward too romance, action, comedy and DEATHS!! I know that sounds bad but when the end of the world is here and stakes are high some people have to go. I personally loved the new team dynamic between Thor and the Guardians of the galaxy it was fun and enjoyable to watch. The directors and writers had enough balls to pull the amazing masterpiece the Infinity war is. I highly recommend watching it for sure .

Wow the year went by quick it’s already time to name Dunbar’s new 2018-2019 cheerleading team . This year is the year of the fresh meat . A lot of younger girls are taking over the team but that’s a good thing because when the older girls leave Dunbar will have more girls to take over. Try-outs this year consists of performing a sideline, two running tumbling pass , two standing tumbling pass, a stunt and of course the fight song. The seniors are doing a good job in helping the new girls and leading the team to victory.

On 4/20 rapper J-cole released his new album “KOD”.   With  only twelve track J-cole was able to tackle many issues from substance abuse, violence, social media obsession and on his last track “1985″ he puts out his perspective of  being a black man in the rap industry to the up and coming rappers. This album got a lot of mixed reviews some saying it didn’t live up to the hype like his earlier work like “2014 Forest Hill Drive”  and “Born Sinner”  and some say this is his best work to date . Whatever the opinion is no one can deny that J-Cole is one the most influential rappers of the 21st century.

A new Netflix series has dropped and it didn’t disappoint On my Block is a show centered on a group of fourteen years old in south central L.A as they prepare for their new chapter in High school while dealing with gangs, parents, sports, love and treasure ! Yes, treasure. The show has a very diverse cast and deals with topics that a lot kids can relate too . With the hype that another successful Netflix show Stranger things got on it’s first season there’s without a doubt that this show will get the same praise . It currently has a 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and I can see why . This 10 episode show has just enough drama and a lot of comedy for anyone to enjoy  no matter the age.  Definitely check it out.

The break is officially over guys. Dunbar cheer is back in session while tryouts are a few weeks away tumbling and clinics are going on.

Every Tuesday Dunbar cheer hosts a stunt clinic for upcoming girls who are interested  on joining the team there  they learn the Dunbar fight song and a couple of cheers to prepare for tryouts.

On Thursday, tumbling classes are offered for those wanting to improve there skills for tryouts . Now it may seem like everything is being rushed but nationals comes so quick, so fast it’s better to be ready and prepared.

Okay guys, my break from cheer continues today with a new topic MARVEL INFINITY WAR !!!!

For 10 years Marvel had reigned supreme in comic book movies. With success like the Avengers, Captain America and my personal favorite, Black Panther.

And coming up next month is long awaited Infinity War ! Fans have been waiting YEARS for this and I can’t wait to watch it .

I know this blog is usually about cheer and getting ready for competition and such, but today I’m going to talk about an issue that has been plaguing the nation. Gun control and gun violence.

A lot are divided on this issue, but I believe when it comes to keeping our kids and everyone in country safe there is no need for debate. Students all over the country are starting to get paranoid about going to school which they should be.

They’re scared about when the next shooting is going to be which they shouldn’t be. Congress and our President shouldn’t be afraid to make stricter regulations on guns .

It shouldn’t matter if your a Democrat or a Republican and your views on this situation. The choice to make our country safer and our children safe shouldn’t be up for debate.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH .

My blog name is finally being upheld. That’s right Nationals (Natty’s) 2018 is officially 9 days away!

Since May of 2017 the Dunbar cheerleaders have been preparing for this exact time of the year. All the blood, sweat and many tears (literally) all lead up to winning 1st place and getting this white saten jackets.

For Dunbar cheer JV team there looking for their first ever national title . With this years talented team our chances of winning are pretty high . Wish them luck !!!!

People usually wonder what happens when cheer season is over. Where do the girls go? What do they do?

Well, for one thing cheer is never over. The girls usually take the time  to go to tumbling to improve or work on some new skills for the next season. Dunbar hosts multiple cheer clinics to get new girls involved.

Some girls focus on school sense there is no more practice they take the time to study and catch up on some work. Others decide to get a job to keep busy and earn some extra cash.

The majority of the girls just relax. Cheer can be stressful and when you’ve been going at it for nine months at most you need these two and half months to rest , hang with friends , family etc.
